What are a few big breeds of dog?

I want to know all the known big dog breeds. I have an interest in big dogs and want to prove my family wrong about them being viscous. *cough* cough* My grandpa, mom, dad , grandma, and aunt all think so.

  1. Goden Retrievers are kinda big and theyre very friendly. I dont know all of the big breeds, too many to list but siberian huskys arent viscious either.
  2. German Shephards, Golden Retrievers, Laborador Retrievers, Great Danes, Huskies, .........
  3. Irish Wolfhound, Saint Bernard, Greyhounds to name a few...
  4. Great Pyrenees, German Shephard, Great Dane, St. Bernard
  5. Rottweiler Mastiffs (bull & english) German SHephards Labradors Great Danes Newfoundlands Bouviers
  6. oh man...most big dogs are nice, its the little ones u gotta watch out for. check out this site...
  7. Great Danes are pretty much as big as they get :P Other dogs like Huskies and German Shepherds are also on the large side :) hope this helps
  8. Great Dane Irish wolf (there gentle but a little ugly looking but i want one anyways) Rhodesian ridge back ( I had one and they are so cool)
  9. Golden retrievers are a large breed and certainly known not be vicious. Neither are labs. They'd have a hard case arguing that these breeds have a reputation for aggression. A study just published by the University of Pennsylavnia found the most aggressive breeds to be dacshunds and chihuahuas.
  10. Its funny because a well-trained Rottweiller is one of the most loyal, loving, friendly, and intelligent dog around. Bigger dongs always get a bad rap because people exploit their large size and use them for fighting. I love Rotties and German Shephards. My friend has a Bull Mastiff...now THATS a huge dog!
  11. Is it that difficult to type in "large dog breeds" into a search engine? Even better, "large dog breeds and temperaments" that should get you your answer.
  12. There are german shepherds, labradors, huskys, collies depends, golden retriever, dalmatian, rotweiler, dobermans, boxers. Look for more online.
  13. Oh man, you want a really sweet HUGE dog, go get or Google Italian Swiss Mountain Dogs. My Aunt breeds them for a living and they are the sweetest dogs imaginable. Plus, I am 5 foot 9 inches...and the PUPPY is taller than me, but he is a year old or so I believe..But still that's pretty big. Also Golden Retrievers are really sweet, I had one. Labradors are very very playful and get big as well. My Uncle used to buy Marmaduke dogs..(Great Danes) all the time. They're really sweet too..
  14. golden retrievers and labrador retrievers are big and VERY friendly they are people dogs
  15. Golden Retrievers Labrodor Retrivers Bordor Collie (kinda medium sized really) GREAT DANES ^^ Wiemeranier Pointers (there are many diffrent kinds) Boxer Sheep Dog ANY dog can be sweet with the correct training :) I heard that Pit Bulls have a chemical inbalance in there brain that is why SOME of them are vicious but I will probley get my head chewed off for saying that :)
  16. I have a pitbull (spelling) and it is the sweetest dog ever, it never even growled at a person..... And I had a Newfoundland, which my brother actually learned to walk with by tugging on its mouth and skin to stand.
  17. http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/dogselector.do try this quiz youll find you perfect breed on it.
  18. English Bull Mastiffs are big and soppy. St Bernards too. Not viscous. If anything, they're quite runny. But a lot of the time temperament depends on the owner more than the dog. Powerful breeds are harder work for novice owners, generally speaking. They certainly eat more. Males tend to be a bit bigger and pushier than females of the same breed.
  19. Irish Wolfhounds are massive, and gentle from what I've seen. There's also the Bullmastiff and the Great Dane. Dogs are only vicious when they haven't been trained or treated properly. Most dogs don't know their own strength.
  20. Rhodesian ridgebacks - They're beautiful - Males grow to be up to be more than two feet (shoulderhight - 70 centimeters - I think that would be about two feet..) Great Danes get even bigger.. Both breeds should very much be non agressive!!!!!!
  21. Mastiffs, Saint Bernards, Golden Retrievers, and.... One I saw today at a shelter, I can't remember!!! EDIT-- It's a Great Pyrenees! It was huge!
  22. Snt.Bernard's are big furry gentle giants but i wouldn't recommend it because they sadly only have a life expectancy of 8-10 years. I recommend a Neapolitan mastiff :] best dogs ever
  23. Blockhead Labs. Great Pyranese. German Shepards can be big. Great Danes, of course. Dobermans. Some Rottweilers. Irish Wolfhounds. Mastiff. Newfoundland. Greyhounds. Saint Bernard. There are plenty more.
  24. Mastiffs, Great Danes, Wolf hounds and St. Bernards. All four of these have reputations as gentle temperaments in general. There is always the exception to the rule, but all the ones I know are gentile giants.
  25. newfoundlands, great danes, great pyranees, saint bernards, and mastiffs (there are several kinds) are all big breed dogs. I know for sure that newfoundlands and great pyranees make great family dogs and that most dogs if trained properly aren't "vicious".
  26. Boxer Collie Doberman Pinscher English Setter Dogo Argentino German Shepherd German Pinscher Giant Schnauzer Golden Retriever Gordon Setter Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Greyhound Irish Setter Labrador Neopolitan Mastiff Rottweiler Saint Bernard Wolf dog
  27. Labs Boxers Doberman Rottweiler Mastiff Keep in mind, even though they are big, most of them still think that they are small babies!!! Try nextdaypets.com under puppies for sale, there is a link that says to select your breed, just browse through there, or google.
  28. huskies,golden retrievers,german shpards,ladrador retrievers,great danes,great pyrenees,pitbull,mastiffs,new foundlands,irish wolf,rhodesian ridge back,irish wolhound,saint bernard,grayhounds.
  29. Well, if you want really big dogs, then go for the English Bull Mastif, Labs are big, Great Danes, Dobermans, GermanShepereds and so on. All these dogs are great dogs, not violent at all. They do have potentially a risk of it though, But if trained right then its no big deal. I have had experience with all these breeds, and have never been hurt.
  30. St Bernards and Pyrenese/Bernese Mountain dogs are all quite large and quite gentle giants. Dogs are not vicious; it's the people who raise them that way. I personally own German Shepherds and have never had an incident with myself, family, friends or strangers - not even with the cats, squirrels, or rabbits, etc. outside. My dogs have all been raised as "good citizens".
  31. 1.Golden Retriever 2.Husky 3.Siberian Husky 4.American Eskimo 5.Basston 6.Beago 7.Bearded Collie 8.Comfort Retriever 9.Dakotah Shepherd 10.Golden Sheltie 11.Imo-Inu 12.Kooikerhondje 13.Chocolate Lab 14.Black Lab 15.Yellow Lab 16.Llewelin Setter 17.New Zealand Huntaway 18.Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever 19.Russian Spaniel 20.Scotch Collie 21.Spanador
