Dog Information

Is there any way to have a pet dog shipped?

My bf's mom is giving his dog away of many years. I want to keep him really badly but I live across the country. He's like a pet to me, one of the nicest and smartest dogs I've known. How can I get him here besides driving 3 days?! How do I set all that up? Just call an airline carrier??

  1. Yes, you can get a dog shipped. It costs a couple hundred or so, but it's possible.
  2. Airplane. Call the carriers and find out a price. Call around different airlines that offer direct flights to your nearest airport and they will give you all the info. You will have to buy an approved airline crate for the dog, they have them there usually, it is an added expense. Good luck
  3. stick him on a plane. its about 100 dollars, depending on the airline. Just be forewarned: they treat the animals like baggage. they will get tossed around and they go in the baggage compartment. I never do that to my animals, i always drive.
  4. fedex or Loomis or by plane(get him a window seat in first class)
  5. you can have him shipped by air courier. depending on the size of the dog it might cost a bit but it's fast and safe. or have a pet taxi bring it but that will be VERY expensive.
  6. I think the best way to have a pet shipped to you is through Boat transportatin.
  7. Yep, just call up a few airlines and see if they offer live animal shipping. Most do, and it only costs about $300.
