i need a small dog that would be ok for about 11 hours alone on the days i have work.

8. 11 hours with out being able to go out and relieve itself is far to long. You either need to have a pet sitter come in and take the dog out while you are at work or you need not to have a dog right now.

10. it would be wrong to leave any dog alone for 11 hours a day. you would be better off getting a cat or fish. a cat would be perfectly happy just sleeping all day. but mind you that would be an older cat, not a kitten
