  1. You can go on petfinder.com and look in your location
  2. Try www.petfinders.com and type in your area code. Check out some of the rescue groups while you're there. I think you'll be surprised on all the info they provide about the dogs in their care.
  3. try your local dog rescue centre? http://www.dogsblog.com/adopting-a-dog/uk-dog-rescue-shelters-animal-shelters/
  4. Why can't you go to a rescue center? There are lots of unwanted adults and puppies that are in shelters through no fault of their own. Have a look at www.epupz.co.uk you can sort by breed and area
  5. www.preloved.co.uk :)
  6. have you tried Craig's list? or the human society? there are a lot of pet stores on every corner try looking on the computer or just by word of mouth sometimes neighbor will know someone at work or relative that knows something!
  7. Okay - why can't you get to a Rescue Centre? If you are going to take on a dog, you will need to be able to get to a vet (probably) at some stage. Check also on Vet's Notice Boards. Quite often there are litters advertised there. You might try Champdogs (if you are after a purebred) - they list by breed, and by area. You should also contact the relevant Breed Club. They usually have somebody who keeps a list of breeders, good ones, with puppies for sale. But do make sure you are ready to take on the responsibility of a pet, any pet, for it's entire life. Add - Although I can recommend Champdogs, which has a good percentage of better breeders listed, do your homework. Buying from a general puppy website (and epupz is not one I'd use, remotely!!) is risky and always remember, good breeders don't need to use these sites, they have a waiting list! And never, ever buy from a pet shop.
