How long does it take for a household pet (dog) to salinate at the mouth?

Could anyone tell me how long would it take for a pet (dog) to salinate at the mouth in general..for the salination to be seen hanging from the dogs mouth.

1. it's salivate and saliva. it takes my dog about three seconds if he thinks there is food to be had.
2. salivate and that is different for each breed.
3. Oh, dear. What will you guys come up with next. The word you are looking for is salivate. You could do it like Ivan Pavlov but dogs don't salivate for no reason unless they are large breed dogs with a lot of jowl. Why would you want to make a dog do this?
