I want to get a pet dog, what breed should I get?
I want to get a pet dog and it would be my first dog. I like medium sized dogs that don't shed hair but are cuddly. I would like an intelligent, friendly, happy and gentle dog. I live in the city but parks are near by. I work full time and don't spend a whole lot of time at home. I live in a two storey house. My house has a small backyard. I don't want to spend too much time grooming. What breed would you recommend?

- because of your working hours i would advise that you got a cat not a dog a puppy is not meant to be left any longer than four hours max
- i just recently got a staffordshire bullterrier best dog ive ever had
- a toy puddle would be the best dog you can have.A Poodle is a breed of dog. Despite the use of the word poodle as a political insult, the poodle is regarded as one of the most intelligent breeds of dog. The poodle breed is found in small, medium, and large sizes, and in many coat colors. Originally bred as a type of water dog, the poodle is skillful in many dog sports, including agility, obedience, tracking, and even herding. We also have one in our own backyard.

- Try visiting your local dog shelter since they have so many dogs needing good homes. They can advise you on the perfect dog for you.
- 1.staffordshire bull terriers best dog ive had in the world, but someone poisoned him so he died at 11months old. 2. american bulldog(johnson type) 3. american pitbull terrier 4. any crossbreed of the above breeds
- I recommend a cat. Dogs need companionship but you don't spend a lot of time at home. Dogs need care but you don't want to spend a lot of time grooming. I'm very serious. You have given it thought, admit you don't have dog experience, and expressed your constraints. I recommend you volunteer at a rescue on the weekends to get your "dog fix" but for now get a cat. They don't mind being alone, they don't need exercising outdoors, and a shorthair is very low maintenance, and many of them LOVE to cuddle. The time you spend w/dogs in rescue will help you recognize how time consuming and demanding a dog is. I have one of each but am home 24/7.
- I suggest you to take the quiz and also study this site a little bit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/searchcategories.htm
- get a kitty...dogs need lots of love.
