Can I have my pet dog travel with me by train?

Hi, I have a 1 year old dog and I wish to travel on a short holiday by train to Dahanu (3 hrs from Mumbai). Can I have my pet dog travel with me by train? What are the conditions that apply if I can have my pet travel with me by train? Thanks, Frank

5. You would have to contact the rail station and find out what their policies on pets are. Not many people travel by train in the US here anymore.. but I am thinking that AmTrak does not allow pets, except for service dogs. The rules may be different where you are.
6. FirstClass, coupe! Or, you have to book all four berths in FirstClass!

8. first you have to purchase a ticket for your dog also. other things include putting the dog in a cage preferably in luggage bogie. the dog should be vaccinated for rabies. if it is attacking type of dog handle it with care so thatr it doesn't attack the passengers.
