dog collars? who knows where in the uk that u can buy the dog collars that have the dogs info woven into the collar, iv seen them advertised somewhere a while back but cant recall where...its a basic house collar that i want the post code and i.d number (one for each of my dogs) woven into oh and my fone number..can anyone help cheers guys xx my dogs have tags etc but i want the collars with the info woven in..so plz dont tell me to get tags etc as they have those already ..im not that irresponsible

Dog Collars? At the moment i have quite a thin leather collar on my bullmastiff pup, he is 6 month's old. While the collar is not tight it does seem to choke him a bit when he is on the lead or if i am leading him around in the house (like dragging him off the cats food!). Do you have any views of the thick wide dog collars? would that be better for him? Many thanks

Dog collars? What type of collar do you use for your dog? Do you leave it on all the time? Or just when the dog is out of the house? (Obviously it's not safe to leave collars on dogs in crates.) Is there any collar you refuse to use, or hate when other people use? Now that microchipping is becoming so popular and affordable, are collars becoming obsolete? I usually leave my dogs' collars on, with the exception of my standard poodle. I worry that his fur could get matted with the collar rubbing on it all the time, and so I leave it off a lot unless we are going somewhere. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about collars. :) To clarify, I don't mean collars obsolete as in not having a dog on lead, I meant it more as 'for identification' purposes. Obviously dogs should always be on the leash when not in their yard/home. You people can be so nitpicky sometimes. :P

Why do only Pit Bull owners buy dog collars with spikes? I've never seen a poodle, lab, or collie with a spiked collar, but I see lots of Pits with them. Pit Bull owners are quick to defend what nice dogs they are, but it makes me wonder what the rationale behind the spiked collar is. Why do my dogs like their dog collars so much? I just finished giving my two shih-tzu, Daisy and Happy, a much-needed bath. Of course I took off their collars before doing so, and when I grab them to put them back on - they both seem to love it. It's one of the few things they don't mind standing still for. Are dog training (shock) collars safe and do they work? I am considering using a training collar to teach my dog boundaries. I need to be able to keep her off leash, but she runs off if I let her off the leash. A fence, even an invisible fence, is out of the question as its not my house.
